Beaver Creek is a vibrant winter resort. Explore the mountains by snowshoeing, skiing, or riding down the many ski trails. Or, take the chair lift up to Strawberry Park for great views to enjoy some high altitude cross country skiing. From Spruce Saddle, where the Centennial Chair Lift drops you off, you'll see mountain peaks from a different perspective. Remember that while Beaver Creek is famous for winter snow activities, summer months are absolutely delghtful for a summer vacation too!

The award winning Beaver Creek children's ski and snowboard school experience is improving! With the addition of the eight-passenger Buckaroo Express Gondola, the resort's smallest customers will ride a short gondola specifically designed with them in mind. Also, families and friends staying in the Town of Avon will find the fastest and most convenient route from Avon to Beaver Creek Mountain via the new Riverfront Express Gondola, anticipated to open during the winter season.

In the mid 1970’s Pete Siebert, the founder of Vail, had his eye on a great 2,200-acre mix of rolling slopes, gentle meadows, and incredible steep drops, just eight miles west of Vail.

With Siebert’s vision, beautiful Beaver Creek Resort was born and was immediately slated to begin hosting the alpine events for the 1976 Winter Olympics. Although the Winter Olympics did not come to Denver, Beaver Creek Mountain continued to grow and opened Dec. 15, 1980.

During its inaugural season, guests found four chairlifts and a temporary bubble structure that served as the ticket office and one lone restaurant. Twenty years later, Beaver Creek has blossomed into a world-class ski resort featuring a pedestrian village set against a rugged Rocky Mountain backdrop.
