Beaver Creek Winter Activities - Beaver Creek is a vibrant winter resort - come and explore the mountain by snowshoeing, skiing, or riding down its many ski trails. Take the chair lift up to Strawberry Park for spectacular mountain views and some high altitude cross country skiing at McCoy Park. From Spruce Saddle, the mid-point of the mountain where the Centennial Lift brings skiers and riders, you'll see mountain peaks from a different perspective. Remember that while Beaver Creek is famous for winter snow based activities, summer months are delightful for a summer mountain vacation too.
The award winning Beaver Creek children's ski and snowboard school experience is improving! In 2008, The Ranch, a 4,000 square foot, on-mountain kids' ski school center opened. Located at the top of the Buckaroo Express Gondola and surrounded by beginner learning terrain, this state-of-the-art children's ski and snowboard school is revolutionizing the way kids learn. The Ranch's picture windows allow parents to discreetly view their kids learning to ski and ride on slopes designed to facilitate correct body movements. The recent addition of the eight-passenger Buckaroo Express Gondola helped the Resort's smallest customers gain access to the new beginner learning terrain. Also, families and friends staying in the Town of Avon and the Westin Riverfront Resort & Spa will find the fastest and most convenient route from Avon to Beaver Creek Mountain via the Riverfront Express Gondola, which opened in 2008.
